Redbubble Artwork Size, JPG vs PNG, Transparent Backgrounds, Product Dimensions, and Upload Limits Explained

Redbubble Artwork Size, JPG vs PNG, Transparent Backgrounds, Product Dimensions, and Upload Limits Explained

A decision guide for choosing pixels, file type, transparency, compression, and product-specific exports before uploading to Redbubble.

When an artist prepares Redbubble sticker artwork, apparel graphics, posters, phone cases, mugs, bags, or puzzles before upload, the right size and format depend on the product. Redbubble accepts JPEG and PNG, product minimums vary, and files above current large-file limits cannot be accepted.

Official source note: Redbubble's Dimensions & Format page lists JPEG and PNG as accepted file types, explains that DPI and PPI do not affect the final uploaded image, gives product-specific pixel minimums, and states that files above 300 MB or 13500 x 13500 px cannot be accepted. It also says sticker transparency requires PNG. See Redbubble Dimensions & Format and Redbubble printing design guidance.

Choose Size By Product Coverage

Redbubble's product dimension list is the safest starting point because a file that fits stickers may not cover wall art, backpacks, tapestries, duffle bags, or jigsaw puzzles. A 9075 x 6201 px master is useful when broad product coverage is the goal, but product-specific exports are still often better for mugs, cases, patterns, and apparel placement.

Use PNG And JPG For Different Jobs

PNG is often the safer first choice for transparent stickers, apparel graphics, line art, typography, logos you own, and crisp-edged designs. JPG is often practical for posters, photographic artwork, full-background illustrations, gradients, and texture-heavy images. Avoid saving a transparent design as JPG unless you want a solid background.

Do not treat one partner number as universal: Some Redbubble Partner Program pages may list dimensions for a specific brand submission. Those are partner-specific and should not replace the main Redbubble product dimension guidance.
After choosing the product role: Use ConvertiImage on a duplicate PNG or JPG delivery copy, then preview the Redbubble product template before enabling the product.

FAQs About Redbubble Artwork Size And Format

PNG is better when a sticker needs transparency. JPG is not appropriate for transparent sticker art because it creates a solid background.

No. That dimension appears for some products and partner contexts, but Redbubble product requirements vary by product and orientation.
